SUPER SATURDAY NIGHT CRUISES IN SANFORD, FLORIDA
It all began over36 years ago when a group of guys got together with their old cars and trucks and a radio hooked up to speakers and decided to start a car cruise. Herb Partridge, Bobbie Kennedy, Ervin Schreiber, Bud Rogers and Dave Scott all from Sanford enjoyed the idea of a Saturday Night Cruise that they wanted to do it every Saturday night.........well, one thing led to another and before they knew it, crowds from all over Central Florida were coming to their Super Saturday Night Cruise in the WalMart Plaza. It grew and grew and grew, over 300 vehicles would show up each week. Finally they decided to have the cruise the last Saturday of each month with the exception of November and December and that is how it stands to this day. We are now located down on the RiverWalk in Sanford by the Marina on Seminole Blvd. We have a DJ "Jerry"who plays all the old tunes from the 50's-70's each month, we do a 50/50 cash drawing along with a 3 hourdinner cruise for 2 on the RivershipBoat that docks right at the Marina. We give out cruiser tickets for door prizes and usually have hand outs for everyone. We are the oldest car club in Central Florida who has been doing monthly car cruises and now you can pick up a copy of Mike Kelly's Cruise News and you will find a cruise just about every night of the week.

Come say Hi, Come Shop, Come Enjoy!Every Saturday 9am-2pmEffective immediately the Farmers Market has moved to Magnolia Square, on 1st Street between Park and Palmetto Avenues. Why Support Locally Grown?People worldwide are rediscovering the benefits of buying local food. It is fresher than anything in the supermarket and that means it is tastier and more nutritious. It is also good for your local economy--buying directly from family farmers helps them stay in business. Short History:Farmers' markets are one of the oldest forms of direct marketing by small farmers. From the traditional "mercados" in the Peruvian Andes to the unique street markets in Asia, growers all over the world gather weekly to sell their produce directly to the public. In the last decade they have become a favorite marketing method for many farmers throughout the United States, and a weekly ritual for many shoppers. In a farmers' market, a group of farmers sell their products once or twice a week at a designated public place like a park or parking lot. Some farmers' markets have live entertainment. Shopping at a farmers' market is a great way to meet local farmers and get fresh, flavorful produce. Source: www.sanfordfl.gov

The city sits on the south shore of Lake Monroe at the head of navigation on the St. John's River, a 9,406 acre lake, and offers beautiful lake views on the new Riverwalk - A perfect place to take an afternoon stroll and watch the sun set on the lake. Our picturesque First Street is the center of downtown and has been revitalized with brick streets and traditional light posts. The Victorian-era cottages that adorn the surrounding residential area are lovingly restored and framed with gingerbread trim and picket fences. We invite you to our wonderful city to savor our history and pride in our past.
